First up on the list of apps that add text to photos is Over. The app is simple to use and lets you add beautiful type to your image. Simply snap or upload an image from your phone and type in your text. The app comes with 28 different fonts and purchasing an in-app upgrade will also give you access to more fonts. The Over app costs $1.99 from the iTunes app store.

2. PicLab

PicLab is another app that lets you add text to your photos. As well as text, you can also add different masks. These masks can range from shapes and borders to light leaks. The app is free to download from the iTunes app store, but does publish photos with a noticeable watermark. Purchasing the in-app upgrade for $0.99 will remove the watermark as well as giving you access to more features.

The app is available for iPhone and Android phones and is free to download. However, the iPhone version has noticeably more features than the Android one.
