I, like most people, love music apps. I wouldn’t call it an addiction, but I think it’s heading that way. I love discovering new music. I love when apps make playlists for me, because, yes, I am really that lazy. Music apps serve so many different purposes that it’s a little bit impossible not to love them. If you’re looking for some new music apps to try out, you have come to the right place, because at this point, they are becoming close to being the only apps I use regularly.

1. Spotify
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
I’m almost positive that everyone’s heard of Spotify at this point, but if you haven’t, Spotify is a music-playing app that lets you listen to basically any music without buying it. You can create playlists upon playlists of songs that you don’t personally own. Sure, you may have to listen to a few ads, but it’s worth it. It’s personally one of my favorite music apps right now.
2. Lazify
Download for Spotify here: open.spotify.com
Lazify is definitely one of my favorite lesser-known music apps. It functions in Spotify by creating playlists for you. I love Spotify, but I don’t always know where to go when I’m looking for new music. With Lazify, you simply drag a song you like to the Lazify icon and it comes up with a playlist of similar songs that you may not have heard of before!

If you love Pandora but hate the ads, Radia might be the perfect music app for you. It’s Pandora with the ease and simplicity of an app. There is a plethora of Pandora apps, but Radia by and far is the simplest and most hassle-free Pandora app you can try out!
4. 8tracks Radio
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
I personally love 8tracks in its website form, but I sometimes find it to be bulky and hard to navigate. The 8tracks Radio app changes that completely. While the website can be confusing, the app is simple and easy to figure out. You can make your own mixes and listen while studying, working, or just searching the web. It’s the perfect app for simple mixes.
5. SoundHound
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
SoundHound has been my favorite music-related app for years. Have you heard a song, loved it, and needed to know what the name of the song was? This app will tell you what song you’re listening to in a matter of seconds. It’s a lifesaver. The next time you hear a song you love in a store, you won’t spend forever wondering what the name is, or trying to remember a few of the lyrics to Google later, because SoundHound will tell you in a few seconds.

For an app, Discovr is pricy at $4.99. However, if you’re really into music, it may be worth it. Discovr uses your music taste to help you find new artists that may be of interest to you. It saves music and bands that you like, and lets you buy their music from within the app. It’s a great way for the serious music lover to to discover new music.
7. Songza
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
Songza is a great music app when you’re not sure what music you want to listen to. It’s such a simple concept that you can’t help but be annoyed that you didn’t come up with it yourself. It identifies what day and time it is, and what music most people listen to. For example, on a Sunday afternoon, it offers music choices that vary from relaxing at home to studying. If you don’t like any one of the options offered, you can even pick a genre you’d rather listen to.
What’s your favorite music app? I really love Spotify and Songza right now. What do you love right now? Have you tried any of these out? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
