Sometimes we are unaware of the safety precautions we need to be taking in order to keep our social media accounts safe. It's not a secret that hackers are out there and it is our job to make it hard for the hackers to hack us. So here are some ways to stay safe on social media:

1. USE the PRIVACY SETTINGS
This is probably one of the most important things you can do. By setting up the privacy settings you can keep people out. On Google there is a feature where you can't fully login unless you have the code that's sent directly to your phone. Also on Facebook you can make it so that there is a privacy block wall that only you can unlock with your phone. You may not think it's important but the privacy settings could prevent a lot of bad stuff from happening.
2. DON'T GIVE out YOUR PASSWORDS
Giving out your password is giving someone else the power to destroy you. Don't ever give someone that power. If you accidentally do so then I highly suggest you change all of your social media passwords ASAP.
3. DON'T POST YOUR PHONE NUMBER
I have seen too many scenarios where someone posted their number on Facebook and they got a lot of creepers and stalkers blowing up their phone. Just don't do it. There is some stuff online that doesn't need to be shared with the world.
4. DON'T USE the LOCATION LOGIN FEATURES
Sharing your location with your friends may seem like all fun and games until you're stalked and something terrible happens to you. Don't ever use this feature!! It is not wise to give a potential stalker your exact whereabouts. They may come and hurt you. You may be thinking that this could never happen to you but it happens more often than you would think. Be safe.
