One of my favorite free weight loss apps is My FitnessPal. I like to use both the online and mobile versions of this one. My FitnessPal allows you to easily track all of the food you eat. They have a food database that features about 3 million foods, allowing you to check out the nutritional values of tons of different foods. My FitnessPal works well with most diet plans.

If your doctor has recommended a specific diet plan for you, such as low cholesterol, Diet Point is a great weight loss app for you. It features over 130 diet plans for you to choose from. It also features a weight loss tracker to help you stay on track.

My fitness pal is excellent! You don't have to be dieting as such to use it either...I use it to keep track of foods and exercise. It makes you think twice about having a slice of cheesecake instead if an apple when you know it's being entered in the diary! The scanner is very useful too
