One of the apps every New Yorker should have and one of my personal favorites is the NYC Subway app. I use it every time I am underground to double check my destination or count the number of stops. It definitely comes in handy when you are exploring and it doesn’t require any cellular connection. I’ve been living here for about seven years now and this app still comes in handy.

Knowing your way around the Central Park definitely requires some experience and knowledge, but not everyone is blessed with amazing navigating skills.If you are not one of those people do not worry, Central Park NYC Lite will be your guide. This simple but yet handy app will take away frustration and make your stroll in the park more of an enjoyable experience.

If you have no time to spare on the guessing games in the subway, Exit Strategy is the app for you. It actually tells you what subway to take, which cars will be the closest to your exit and where to expect the doors of the car to open. This app makes subway navigation a piece of cake even for tourists!

GrubHub is not just limited to New Yorkers. It is a great app that puts a massive restaurant network at your fingertips. All you have to do is enter your address or search your current location and GrubHub will spit out all of the nearby delivery or pick up options. You can make your order right through this app and track it to see when it will be delivered!

Among many other things that New York has to offer, there are CitiBikes scattered all throughout Manhattan at anyone’s disposal. Although there is a small fee for your pleasures, you are given a chance to really take in the New York vibe by using bikes as transportation. This app aids you in navigating yourself around the city and even has a few tips and suggestions on your destinations.

Around Me is just a perfect app for anyone trying to find a destination in their vicinity. Just by entering your location and choosing a category, you will be able to see the nearest bars, coffee shops, gas stations, movie theaters, hotels, banks, etc. It really comes in handy even when deciding on things you can do.

NYC Way closely resembles Around Me but it focuses more on the entertainment aspect of NY. This app informs you about the night life, weather prognosis, and traffic situations, as well as places to visit, things to do and food to try. NYC has a lot of things to offer and it is nice to have an app to help you narrow down your choices.
